About

Much of our pain stems from internal conflict — a quiet struggle between who we think we should be and what we truly want. This tension can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and paralyzed in our growth. When we remain in this state too long, it can manifest physically, emotionally, and spiritually, leading to chronic discomfort and a deep sense of disconnection.

Toph helps you to gently interrupt this pattern by helping you reconnect with your core values, deepen self-awareness, and move toward greater alignment. He takes a patient, non-judgmental approach with those searching for clarity and self-acceptance. He integrates mindfulness and somatic practices into his work, believing the body often reveals truths that words alone cannot express. His goal is to create a grounded, compassionate space where clients can safely explore who they are and who they want to become.

Toph works especially well with adults and teens experiencing persistent depression, complex family dynamics, and high pressure — particularly athletes and high achievers. He also specializes in helping individuals who have experienced early loss or childhood trauma, and he enjoys supporting young men exploring issues of masculinity and self-identity. Additionally, he works with couples seeking deeper connection and communication.

Before becoming a therapist, Toph spent over two decades working in the arts as a writer. His creative background informs his work with artists and creatives facing blocks, burnout, and work-life balance struggles. With experience in both education and the nonprofit world, he also welcomes professionals from these demanding fields into his practice.

Toph holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a BA in Film Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
